　　習鑿齒史才不常，宣武甚器之，未三十，便用為荊州治中。鑿齒謝箋亦雲：“不遇明公，荊州老從事耳！”後至都見簡文，返命，宣武問“見相王何如？”答雲：“壹生不曾見此人！”從此忤旨，出為衡陽郡，性理遂錯。於病中猶作漢晉春秋，品評卓逸。
